Faith Formation for Adults

Spiritual formation and the religious education of adults are essential to the ongoing growth of our faith community.  Our parish provides opportunities for the faith formation of adults, in which all parishioners are welcome to join as participants and assistants.  For more information or to participate in any of these options, please call the parish office at 330-733-9944.

Bible Study

Through personal study, small group sharing, teaching, and prayer, the participants in the Bible Study come to a deeper understanding of the history, teaching, and interpretation of the Scriptures.  Participants gather once a week.  Sessions include the study of Bible commentaries as well as multimedia presentations.

Adult Faith Formation

During the year, various opportunities arise for presentations, faith-sharing, and topics related to the teachings, beliefs, and practices of the Church.  Any and all adults are welcome to participate.  Sessions are advertised as they are scheduled.

Men’s Prayer Group

This group is open to all men of the parish 25 years of age and older and provides an opportunity for the men of the parish to meet on a regular basis to share fellowship, to help each other in their faith formation, and to become more committed men of God.

RCIA Team Member

The process of the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” (RCIA) leads adults to initiation into the Church through the celebration of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.  The RCIA process is one of personal conversion, education in the Catholic faith, and spiritual formation.  Gatherings are held for those inquiring about the teachings and beliefs of the Catholic Church.  The preparation process begins in the early fall and culminates in the celebration of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday.  A team assists the participants during the preparation process, attending sessions and gathering occasionally with the candidates to reflect on the Sunday Scripture readings and provide hospitality and refreshments.
