Day by Day Through Lent: Day Thirty-four

Come out!"

This is the final Friday of the season of Lent; next Friday we'll be into the solemn three day observance of the death and resurrection of Christ. Each Friday during Lent we have prayed and reflected on one of the Penitential Psalms of the Old Testament, and today we'll end our psalm reflections with a psalm that focuses on the only two things that matter: our need for God's mercy and God's infinite compassion for us. Click the image below for a song you may know well, "The Cry of the Poor." Consider how "poor" in this prayer refers not so much to your economic situation as your need for God's mercy!

We will pray the Stations of the Cross in the church tonight at 7:00. All are welcome! There will be a free soup supper in the Father Silva Center before the prayer service. Doors open at 5:30; come any time before Stations!
