Day by Day Through Lent: Day Twenty-eight

"I was blind; now I can see!"
Although it may seem like it could be (or even should be!), Saint Patrick’s Day is not a “break” from the penance and prayer of Lent. (In fact, on the Church calendar, it’s only an “optional memorial”, celebrated in places with a particular devotion to the saint!) But even if you’re not Irish, this is a day to recount the blessings of the Lord. That’s actually the suggested activity for today on our parish Lenten calendar (click). Today is a good day to count your blessings - literally!
Saint Patrick was first and foremost a bishop, concerned for the spiritual well-being of his flock. Click on the picture below to share a prayerful reading of the Prayer of Saint Patrick!
