Day by Day Through Lent: Day Twenty
"Those who drink of the water I will give will never be thirsty!"
“De profundis” is the Latin phrase meaning “out of the depths.” These are the opening words of Psalm 130, one of the six “penitential psalms” found in the Old Testament. Our “Day by Day through Lent” journey sets aside Fridays as days to reflect on these psalms, as Friday has long been the traditional day of penance, fasting, and abstinence from meat. Remember that tonight we will pray the Stations of the Cross at 7:00. There will be a simple soup supper in the Father Silva Center beginning at 5:30. It’s free and open to everyone!
