Day by Day Through Lent: Day Fifteen

"Those who drink of the water I will give will never be thirsty!"

We have already reached the Third Sunday of Lent and we find ourselves about one-third of the way through the season. This week the Scriptures lead us to reflect on the meaning of our baptism and the promises we make to live as faithful disciples of Jesus. The Gospel story that leads us into this reflection is the story of the Samaritan woman meeting Jesus at the well. Their conversation leads her to conversion, and to understand what Jesus means by the “life-giving water” he offers to the spiritually thirsty woman. For your reflection today, a rendition of a well-known hymn offered my Christian singer Matt Maher. Click on the baptismal font below and sing along and pray along as you “come to the water” of life.
