November 7 Election: Abortion Rights Amendment

On Tuesday, November 7, Election Day in Ohio, citizens will have the opportunity to vote on a significant amendment to the State Constitution. This issue, known commonly as Issue One, under the guise of protecting the "reproductive rights" of women, would enshrine the right for a woman to abort her unborn child. The amendment offers no protection for the right to life of unborn children, nor does it ensure the protection of the right to adequate health care, financial security, or care for mothers or children, before or after birth. The recommendation of the Bishops of the State of Ohio is that the amendment be defeated.
